Another busy week for our Dragon Riders, with our Dawson Park sessions being followed up by some nice wheelchair Badminton coaching at Menzieshill Community Centre. Showing just how our club provides participants with good quality coaching.
Our Waterfront sessions were back and our rides were enjoyable along the waterfront in some amazing weather. One of our Riders stepped up to try a different Trike. Ann was out of her comfort zone for sure but by taking things nice and easy she soon began to feel her confidence build 🩷.
If it’s Thursday it must be Castle Green, and this day we were pleased to host a visit to the Dragons from Michelle, All Ability Co-ordinator at Kinross-shire Trishaws and Community Cycling. Michelle had a fantastic time riding out with our Dragons along the new cycle route to Monifieth. We look forward to visiting KTACC very soon.
As I write this, we are at the end of a very busy Saturday. We have had our regular Dawson Sessions, plus Kevin and myself were present at the Angus Alive community cycling project launch of “Pedal Together”. Where we met with Laura Smith OBE. It was fantastic to see the bikes at Monikie Country Park. Especially knowing that they have been able to replicate this at Forfar Loch and Montrose. Then it was off to Royal Victoria Hospital for me to join Ward 4s Family Fun Day. I had 2 of our Adaptive bikes along, promoting ways to get active following a stroke. The event was made complete when Dragon Rider Janice spoke to a very attentive audience, focussing on Janice’s journey through her stroke. She had created a way to portray her journey using the letters S T R O K E to describe different aspects of her journey. Amazing Janice 🩷.
