GMac’s Cycling Diary

1–2 minutes

We started our week at Triple locations on Saturday with our usual sessions at Dawson Park and myself and Kevin attended the official launch of Pedal Together Angus at Monikie Country Park. It was great to see the park busy and the bikes were being enjoyed by the riders.

It’s always a nervous time whenever a new activity launches, both Laura and Stefan from Angus Alive didn’t show any signs, and as the people arrived the bikes began to roll. The bikes looked great and the riders enjoyed exploring the country park.

Next I was off to Royal Victoria Hospital and Ward 4s Family Day where I was joined by Janice Rae our Dragon of the Year 2026. Janice is a stroke survivor and she came along to talk about her Stroke journey through being in hospital to how she has learned to grasp each day as it comes and rise to each challenge as it presents itself 🩷.

As we moved onwards into the week ahead all eyes were on the weather. The mini heatwave we had experienced appeared to be over 🥺.

How wrong can we be, yes it did rain, early in the morning, but come Adaptive Cycle time we were basking in sunshine. Dundee had a visitor berthed from the Danish Navy the HDMS Esbern Snare. The Dragons were setting off to say ” Hej” Hello. But the ongoing works at the road bridge sadly barred our way. But never mind we managed a wave 🤪.

We were still all eyes on the weather come Thursday. Did we need to worry, not at all, we found ourselves like we were on the French Riviera. It was a beautiful day down at Castle Green and we had 2 glorious rides along the cycle way towards Monifieth.

Such a great week, seeing new projects begin and our Adaptive Cycling fortunes with the weather continue 👍.
