Return of the Dragons!

Lockdown has been tough for everyone, and it’s no exaggeration to say we’ve been absolutely desperate to get back on the court!

With the recent green light to hold outdoor sporting activities (maintaining social distancing of course!) we were thrilled to see the #DragonsFamily get back to enjoying some ball time this weekend!

Sport is so important for everyone, but especially so for those of us with physical disabilities.
It’s a great way to stay healthy in both mind and body, and it’s great fun too!

We normally train indoors, but just as we’ve all had to get used to a “new normal” we’ve embraced some outside court time for now.
So as long as the weather holds, you’ll see Dragons Roaring across Baxter Park on a Saturday morning!

Perhaps you’d like to get fitter now we’re coming out of lockdown?
Or maybe you want to give back to the local community and volunteer?
If so the club would love to welcome you along, making Dragons part of your new normal!

Just send us an email on contact@dundeedragons.net and we’ll let you know how you can join in the fun.

Here’s a peak at what we got up to this weekend – look at those smiles!

With Wimbledon just around the corner, it’s not long until Tennis Fever will start to grip the country, and we’ve got just the answer!
Every Wednesday night you can get on the court and work on that Grand Slam winning forehand. Come along to Lynch Sports Centre from 19:00-21:00 on Wednesday Evenings for expert coaching and great fun.
The first hour is outside, weather permitting, so check our Facebook and Twitter pages for up to date announcements.

See you there!

Match Report: Grampian Flyers Open Day.

The Dragons travelled to Aberdeen on Saturday 7th of June to take part in the Scottish WBB Development league. A spirited bunch made up of Dragon regulars plus family members, Abertay staff and students and Josh from Lothian Phoenix took on Grampian Flyers and Lothian Phoenix.

“Magic hands McKeen” with a flurry of 3 pointers helped secure a decisive win in the first game over Grampian Flyers.  Playing Lothian Phoenix was always going to be challenging but the Dragons fought hard and held their own managing to keep the scores very close throughout the two halves. By the second round of games the Dragons had improved both in their offensive and defensive  play but despite their best efforts failed to win a game.

Everyone who participated had a great day and learned loads – the Dragons travelled back to Dundee exhausted but well chuffed with their performance.
